Infusion. Exhibited in "Surface Residue' at Adelaide Central Gallery, 2-25 June 2006.

Infusion is a body of work produced in reflection of my time spent in the UK. I am facinated by the teabag as an object of incredible beauty, loaded with colonial significance and cultural identity. 'Infusion I' is part of a series of 3 16x20" silver gelatin fibre prints hand-stained with the tea itself (edition of 1). The works 'English Breakfast (London)' and 'English Breakfast (Somerset)' (not pictured above) involve a collection of hand-made teabags on canvas, with hand-sewn polaroid prints (see detail above) and teabag tags made from B&W contact prints of iconic 'English' photographs taken whilst living in the UK.
