Twenty-seven-year-old Elliot Christie returns home to Adelaide for the christening of his father’s new child.

Elliot soon discovers that his younger brother, Brett, has confined himself to his room, and the family is feeding him with a tray under the door. When Elliot finally makes it inside the room, he realizes his brother has inherited the same mental illness that drove his mother to take her life. The room is adorned with ten empty canvasses, which were given to her as a therapeutic device designed to expel the voices from her mind, out into the world. A plan that left ten canvasses empty and a family scarred forever.
